Sri K.Y. Bharaneedhara Sastrigal

Founder, Srivivahaa & Chief Priest, Kanchi Mutt

Born and raised in a deeply orthodox family, Sri K.Y. Bharaneedhara Sastrigal was blessed at the age of seven with the divine darshan of Jagadguru Mahaperiyavaa. During that sacred meeting, Mahaperiyavaa lovingly advised his father:

“You have five sons. Why not send one for Veda Adhyayanam?”

This divine direction marked the beginning of his spiritual journey as a dedicated Vedic student in Kanchipuram.

A Life of Vedic Service

After completing his Vedic education, Sri Bharaneedhara Sastrigal was blessed with numerous opportunities to serve Puduperiyava personally. His deep association with Kanchi Mutt and the revered Acharyas continues to this day, rooted in devotion and gratitude.

He presently serves as a Vedic priest and as the Chief Priest of Kanchi Mutt, under the divine guidance and blessings of Pudu Periyavaa.

He has actively contributed to Vedic preservation by releasing audiobooks on the correct Veda Kramam. He has authored clear and detailed books on Sandhyavandanam and traditional puja procedures. All his contributions are available on Asthikadharmam Website .

Trusts & Spiritual Initiatives

With a strong service-oriented mindset, he leads several spiritual and community initiatives:

Through the Jagadguru Veda Parayana Trust, he organises Upanyasams and programs on Sanatana Dharma, Hindu rituals, and Dharmashastram.
He founded the Asthikadharmam Trust, which performs religious services and community welfare activities for devotees.

Panchangam & Veda Classes

As part of his commitment to preserving tradition, Sri Sastrigal has created a Panchangam based on Drik Ganitha, refined through Desandra Samskaram, a system tailored to local regions.

With the blessings of the Jagadgurus, this Panchangam guides devotees with accurate and authentic Vedic logic.

In addition, he conducts numerous online Upakarma and Veda classes, serving 30+ groups across India and abroad, connecting families to our timeless scriptures and practices.

Why Srivivahaa Was Founded

Through his close interaction with families and the community, Sri Sastrigal observed an increasing drift from our traditional way of life – mixed marriages, conversions, and a gradual fading of awareness about Sanatana Dharma.

With compassion, responsibility, and under the divine guidance of the Acharyas, he founded Srivivahaa – a matrimonial platform dedicated to helping our community connect, marry within tradition, and preserve our rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
